- Dry reed (most common): Reeds need moisture to vibrate. Wet in mouth 30 seconds or soak 2-3 minutes.
- Wrong embouchure: Lower lip not covering teeth, corner leaks, loose seal.
- Insufficient air: Not just "blowing" — need supported airflow.
- Keys not fully pressed: Fingertips must fully depress keys.
- Reed misaligned: Tip must be flush with mouthpiece tip.
- Loose ligature: Reed shifts out of position.
- Neck not properly installed: Air leaks.
- Leaking pad (hardware): Needs repair technician.
